Keith Olbermann pays tribute To His Mother Who Died On Saturday, April 4th 2009. Marie Olbermann had been an aspiring ballerina, an expert on opera, and a preschool teacher, but her son highlighted her lifelong passion for baseball.   She enjoyed a stint of fame after being hit between the eyes by Yankee infielder Chuck Knoblauch.

    • Loved the Fox footage and him taking the opportunity to showcase her. He showed a lot of strength being able to get through it.

  1. I was born in 1932 and I can only hope that I will have an exit like hers. So many older people become slaves to the medical system, over medicated, never feeling really well, always trying for the newest “miracle”. She was fine until the end, and felt I’m sure, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” May I say your mom did it just right? Thank you for sharing this remarkable woman with us.
