The timing of the compromise reached by Rove and Miers attorneys and the House Judiciary is interesting. It comes before a deadline that would have put the Obama administration in the position of having to defend exectutive privilege on behalf of Rove and Miers. The agreement allows for limited assertion of executive privilege.
