Raped girls made pregnant in an incestuous attack should be forced to deliver a baby.  That’s a “culture of life” according to Governor Sarah Palin.  A culture of what kind of life, I don’t know.  A twisted life?  A miserable life?  A life where Government seals a wretched existence for a woman or girl by revictimizing her.  As Jon Stewart puts it,

Hey, tough break on the dad raping you!  So, picked out a name?”

Palin did better on the evolution question though this is still a person who told a friend she saw a picture of human and dinosaur footprints fossilized together.

  1. The bottom line is that we are in a time when, more than ever in my lifetime, we need serious, smart people at work finding solutions to the myriad problems we have; not people who are philosophically committed to continuing our problems.

We need the best and the brightest Americans at the forefront. Barack Obama has invited the best and the brightest to join him. Sarah Palin, continuing in the Bush/McCain vein, repeats the mantra, “I can get it done for (read: to) the American people. That’s swell, considering the only Americans in whom she had ever taken an interest, prior to being tapped as McCain’s running mate, were Alaskans and oil execs. She is not the best and brightest that this country has to offer and that is the kindest thing I can say about her.

What her pick says about either McCain’s judgment or his willingness to gamble with the security of this country should give everybody pause.
