The C-men of C Street BLEEEEEVED the dick is mightier than a subpoena.  Why else did Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) unzip those doctoring and jesusing credentials for reporters asking questions about the Ensign sex scandal?

I was counseling him as a physician and as an ordained deacon.” Coburn asserted about his role. “That is privileged communication that I will never reveal to anybody.  Not to the Ethics Committee, not to a court of law, not to anybody.”

I guess a penchant for playing doctor fits quite nicely with Senator John Ensign’s predicament.

Those convictions have gone limp.   When Coburn was asked if he would cooperate in a Senate Ethics Committee investigation, he said, “Sure.”

Coburn, Ensign’s roommate at C Street, has admitted to being the go-between in the initial negotiations of a settlement between the mistress’ husband, lawyers, and Senator Ensign.

(That fell under physician or deacon?)
