Surprise, surprise, surprise…

Teenage girls who solemnly swear never to have sex unless they’re married to a good, providing, right-wing, religious nutjob have just as much sex as the girls who aren’t lying to everybody.

Top docs from the journal Pediatrics published their findings in the January 2009 issue.  Purity girls not only had as much sex, but they also failed to use condoms and were less likely to rely on any form of birth control.

The research fuels the debate about the ineffectiveness of abstinence-only sex education.  Congress and the new administration may sink  $176 million taxpayer dollars into the continued funding of these programs.
