As they work through their grief, my conservative friends are beginning to realize the damage caused by their unholy union with the religious wack-a-loons and self described “social conservatives”.
I’ve especially enjoyed the fact that the luster of their hero’s image has dimmed in their own eyes as they recall that it was Reagan who made the bargain.

George Will was also discussing the problem that 90% of the people voting for McCain were white. He said Republicans NEED minorities. That’s a hell of spot to be in. They can’t win Latinos without compromise on immigration. They can’t win African-Americans if they continue to coddle the bigots and ignore social and economic disparites.
