Tropical Storm Bertha has been upgraded to a hurricane. This is the second storm of the season. Bertha’s maximum sustained winds increased to about 75 miles-an-hour as it approaches warmer water.
The storm continues to move west towards the Caribbean. Forecasters expect Bertha to strengthen, but do not know if the storm will hit land.
The Atlantic’s first tropical storm, Arthur, formed the day before the season officially started on June 1st hitting Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.
