Davis on Siegelman

From Left in Alabama: Congressman Artur Davis, in a letter to Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee John Conyers, asks Conyers to reconsider last week’s decision to subpoena Don Siegelman for public testimony before that committee in May.  In the letter to Conyers, Davis makes it clear that he was not consulted before the announcement [...]

Baseball Fans Boo Bush

Political dissatisfaction infiltrates the Washington National Baseball Park.  President Bush threw out the first pitch Sunday at the Washington Nationals season opener. And the President probably didn’t get the fan response he expected, as he was booed by the 41,000-person sellout crowd. I’m surprised he didn’t grab his crotch at the crowd.

Obama Can’t Bowl

Democratic Presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) spends time bowling in Altoona, Pennsylvania. h/t The Silent Maxim

This Week in Parodies

I loves me some Sunday Funnies. h/t The Silent Maxim: Dan Abrams takes some time out to lighten the political mood. He shares his favorite parodies and impressions of the presidential candidates and comedian Hal Sparks helps him choose the best of the bunch.

Rove’s Just Desserts

Silent Maxim uploaded the excerpts of Rove speaking at GWU. The War Criminal banner, Nuremberg references, and calls for a tazing the protestors are all included. Rove’s reference to himself as “Grendel” comes at the end of the video.  My answer to that is here.

Waterboarding Uninteresting to CIA Director

“Torture is a legal term,” says CIA Director Gen. Hayden. It’s embarrassing frankly that America has been reduced to dancing around what torture is under the Bush administration. Dafttool at youtube sums Hayden up nicely: Hayden is a doublespeaking tool of Satan,… er Bush Co. How dare he hide behind legalese, and declare the entire [...]

Meet Beowulf, Bitch

Professional character assassin, Karl Rove thinks he’s the mythical monster Grendel from Beowulf. (Beowulf killed the beast by tearing his arm off in case you live in a GOP/so-called Christian dominated education curriculum that bans great literature from libraries.) This is at least the second time Rove has accounted for his treatment as pariah by [...]

Blackwater Fever

A lethal form of malaria has been dubbed as Blackwater Fever by doctors in Iraq. From the Texas-born, Iraqi-based, unembedded Dahr Jamail: FALLUJAH, Mar 26 (IPS) – Iraqi doctors in al-Anbar province warn of a new disease they call “Blackwater” that threatens the lives of thousands. The disease is named after Blackwater Worldwide, the U.S. [...]

Rove’s Oily Fingerprints

Former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman (D) singled out former White House aide Karl Rove’s involvement in his case in a telephone interview with a New York Times reporter: In a telephone interview shortly after he walked out of a federal prison in Oakdale, La., Mr. Siegelman said there had been “abuse of power,”, and “His [...]

WalMart’s Soulless Policy

Wonder why WalMart’s low, low prices are so low?  It’s too match the company’s integrity. CNN helps make the point, but the quick story…. WalMart is attempting to decimate the life of Debbie Shank by taking every penny she has. Shank was an employee of WalMart when she was broadsided by an semi rig. WalMart [...]
