A husband and wife learned they are brother and sister, says an official in the British House of Lords. The two were twins separated at birth.
British peer David Alton gave the account to parliament to bolster his argument for more openness in artificial insemination cases.
“This did not involve in vitro fertilization: It involved the normal birth of twins who were separated at birth and adopted by separate parents…They were never told that they were twins.”
The brother and sister had their marriage annulled by a British High Court.
