Gays and Women Worst on the Road

Gays and women share the distinction of being navigationally challenge behind the wheel according to a study published in the journal Hippocampus.

Dr Qazi Rahman, from Queen Mary’s School of Biological and Chemical Sciences implemented virtual reality scenarios to test if spatial learning and memory can be linked to sexual orientation.

Gays, straight women, and lesbians found their ways through mazes with less deftness than straight men.

Dr Rahman explained that not only did straight men get started on the test more quickly than gay men and the two female groups, they also maintained that advantage throughout the test.

Gay men like women tended to use landmarks in directional tasks.
