Republican Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee said on Fox News Sunday that in 1992 there was not enough information known to disqualify quarantining AIDS patients even though the CDC had established the disease could not be contracted through casual contact. Huckabee attempts to construe a dentist digging in your mouth as “casual contact,” and therefore feels justified in position. An excerpt from his 1992 statement: “If the federal government is truly serious about doing something with the AIDS virus, we need to take steps that would isolate the carriers of this plague.”
